Things to do and see

Canterbury City Centre has three UNESCO sites of special interest: Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine's Monastery and St Martin's Church, where St Augustine worshipped while his monastery was being built. Canterbury is a major shopping centre, and there are restaurants of all kinds to restore you after a hard day's retail therapy.

Nearby Faversham has its history too and the beautiful Kent countryside with its orchards and villages is there to be explored.

Ramsgate is where Nelson set off for the Battle of Trafalgar and there are many regency souvenirs of his stay there.

Sandwich is the most perfectly preserved medieval town in Britain, and Deal's regency houses and seafront should be seen and enjoyed.
